Attorney General Eric Holder spoke to the press before a meeting with local federal officials at FBI headquarters in St. Louis. He was in Missouri to meet with law enforcement officials and community leaders following the August 9, 2014, police shooting of unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown and subsequent violent protests in Ferguson, Missouri. He said that the federal investigation was different than the state investigation as they were looking for possible violations of federal civil rights statutes. He promised that the his investigators would do a “thorough and a fair job.” close
