Richard Moe spoke about his book, Roosevelt’s Second Act: The Election of 1940 and the Politics of War, in which he recounts President Franklin Roosevelt’s decision to seek an unprecedented third-term in office. In his book, the author reports that Roosevelt was inspired to run again following the start of World War II and his fear of a roll-back of the New Deal legislation.

He spoke in the History and Biography Pavilion of the 14th annual National Book Festival, which was held August 30,2014, by the Library of Congress at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. close
