Panelists talked about the amount of debt that minority students accrue in order to finance their college educations. Sara Goldrik-Rab, who co-authored a paper titled “The Color of Student Debt,” in her remarks said that taking out students loans for minority students was “no longer a choice.” Willie Kirkland of Dillard University talked about the impact of financial aid limits on his institution.

This program was part of a UCLA Civil Rights Project forum in which college professors from all over the country presented their findings on policies intended to help minority high school students gain college admittance. close
