Bob Timberg talked about his book, Blue Eyed Boy, in which he recounts his experiences in Vietnam and subsequent career in journalism. In 1967, Mr. Timberg was a Marine just 13 days away from coming home from Vietnam when his vehicle struck a North Vietnamese landmine and his life changed forever. He suffered third degree burns over much of his face and body. In the interview, he talks about the impact of the experience on his life, the 35 surgeries he had, his thoughts on the war, and how he physically and emotionally rebuilt himself and his career following this accident. close
