House and Senate leaders honored the fallen heroes of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by presenting a Congressional Gold Medal to each of the memorial sites. The medals were accepted by leaders from each of the sites: the Friends of Flight 93, the Pentagon Memorial Fund, and the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. The ceremony was held in Emancipation Hall of the Capitol Visitor Center. close
