Secretary Sylvia Burwell and other government and private sector health care leaders testified about ongoing medical community efforts to improve and develop and new treatments and cures. The witnesses offered suggestions for making systems work better, faster, and cheaper. They stressed the importance of fostering public-private partnerships, improving and broadening databases of patient information, and assisting new doctors, scientists, and innovators with the costly educational burdens in pursuing careers in the field.
