This 1939 documentary argued that modern cities had become unhealthy and that planned communities more like pre-industrial small-town America were preferable. The film was produced for the 1939 New York World’s Fair, the music was composed by Aaron Copeland, and in 1998 the film was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry. close
