Attorney General Eric Holder unveiled a new Justice Department initiative intended “to build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.” The initiative came in the wake of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after an officer-involved shooting August 9, 2014. Attorney General Holder made the announcement at the start of a meeting with United States attorneys. close
