Killing for Coal
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Boulder, Colorado, from September 7-11 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

Thomas Andrews talked about his book, Killing for Coal: America’s Deadliest Labor War, in which he looks at the 1914 Ludlow Massacre, in which members of the United Mine Workers of America and guards employed by the Rockefeller family engaged in a gun battle that left 19 men, women, and children dead among the strikers.
