Tom Shroder talked about his book, Acid Test: LSD, Ecstasy, and the Power to Heal, in which he recounts the creation of psychedelic drugs, specifically LSD and Ecstasy (MDMA), and their use in the fields of mental health care. In his book, the author recalls the early testing of these drugs, their later recreational use, and subsequent ban. Mr. Shroder also reports that scientists and doctors were reconsidering psychedelic drugs to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and addictions. He spoke at the University of California, Berkeley. close
