Leah Davis-Witherow gave a tour of the Helen Hunt Jackson Exhibit at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, talked about Ms. Jackson’s home, and about her importance to the history of Colorado Springs. Author and poet Helen Hunt Jackson moved to Colorado Springs in 1873, two years after the town was founded. While there, she wrote the bulk of her work, including her most well-known novel, Ramona.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from September 11-17 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
