C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from September 20-26 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

Jacqueline Frank, executive director of the National Railroad Museum, talked about the history of the “Dwight D. Eisenhower” Train during World War II. She spoke about the role of the A4 Steam engine train prior to the 1940s, how the British used the train during World War II, and why this particular engine was named after our nation’s 34th president.
