Leaders of African-American church denominations held a summit meeting with officials from the State Department, the United Nations, and several non-profit aid organizations. The event focused on the relief effort to end the starvation in the nation of Somalia. The summit was held to both organize African-American churches and to learn about what was being done to help the citizens of Somalia. Speakers at the forum shared their comments separately. Members of the audience participated by giving comments and asking questions. The event concludes with a news conference. close
