Kim Zetter talked by remote video from San Francisco about the Stuxnet computer worm, which she called the “first digital weapon.” Stuxnet, which was discovered in June 2010, sabotaged Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, and some have speculated the worm was created by the U.S. and Israel. It was the first known computer code virus intended to cause physical damage rather than to steal secrets or disrupt operations. Ms. Zetter is the author of Countdown to Zero Day: Stuxnet and the Launch of the World’s First Digital Weapon. close
