Laura Auricchio talked about her book, The Marquis: Lafayette Reconsidered, in which she recalls the life of Marquis de Lafayette, a French-born military leader who fought in the American Revolution under the tutelage of George Washington. In her book, the author examines Lafayette’s involvement in the American Revolution and the role he later played in the French Revolution, as commander of the National Guard and an opponent of the monarchy’s abolishment.
