University of Wisconsin World War I Exhibit
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Madison, Wisconsin, from September 19-23 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

Skye Doney talked about the World War I exhibit, “World War I 1914: Then came Armageddon,” at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The exhibit chronicles the beginning of World War I on the Western front in 1914. The special collections library at the University of Wisconsin - Madison designed the exhibit to commemorate the centennial of the outbreak of the war. The exhibit uses a variety of literature written by soldiers about their experiences in the war.
