Magna Carta 800th Anniversary Ceremony
This exhibition at the Law Library of Congress, part of Lincoln Cathedral’s “Bringing Magna Carta to the USA” tour, also commemorated the 75th anniversary of the November 1939 deposit of the Lincoln Magna Carta at the library for safekeeping during World War II.

British dignitaries, including Princess Anne and the British ambassador to the United States, commemorated the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta at the ceremony for the Library of Congress exhibit, “Magna Carta: Muse and Mentor.” The ceremony in the Great Hall of the Jefferson Building included music by the Temple Church Choir and Howard University Singers.
