The House Veterans' Affairs Committee held a hearing on the implementation of the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014. The law was enacted in response to the Veterans Affairs Department (VA) scandal involving the falsifications of medical records and long waiting periods for veterans to receive health care. VA officials testified on plans for spending the money the department received from the law, and the steps being taken to discipline employees for poor performance. close
