In 1930 Purdue University became the first U.S. university to offer college credit for flight training. The Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was formally established in 1945. In the book, Mr. Norberg and astronaut Jerry Ross recount the life and career of Mr. Ross, a Purdue University graduate and former NASA astronaut.
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana, from November 16-20 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed.
