Panelists talked about the rise, impact of, and the future of the tea party movement, Stephen Hayes began the discussion with a story about an disagreement he had with 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, with Mr. Romney asserting the tea party was a “mood” and Mr. Hayes arguing that it is a “movement.” The panelists agreed that the tea party movement was one of the main reasons Republicans were doing so well across the country, particularly in state races. close
