Michael Hoinski talked about the Austin, Texas, home of writer William Sydney Porter, also known as O. Henry, and the role of Austin in Mr. Porter’s writing. Best known for his short story The Gift of the Magi, Mr. Porter lived in Austin with his family during the late 1800's. While working in Austin, Porter was arrested and charged with embezzlement at a local bank. It was while serving his sentence at an Ohio penitentiary that Porter began writing under the adopted name O. Henry.
