The United Nations Security Council held a meeting on North Korea’s human rights record. At the start of the session, the Security Council voted in favor of placing North Korea’s human rights situation on its agenda. The representatives of China and Russia voted against the provisional agenda. The 15-member Security Council was being urged to refer North Korea’s human rights situation to the International Criminal Court. In addition, President Obama said the U.S. was reviewing whether to put North Korea back on its list of state sponsors of terrorism. close
