Governor Matt Mead (R) gave the annual state of the state address to a joint session of the Wyoming legislature in the Wyoming State House. He listed some of the accomplishments of his first term and new initiatives he hoped to see implemented over the next four years, including new water and energy strategies, Medicaid expansion, and increasing international trade. In his remarks, he talked about what he called the “onslaught” of the Obama administration against the coal industry concerning air quality regulations aimed at reducing emissions from coal-fired power plants. Chief Justice Burke gave a speech on the state of the judiciary.
