Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) gave his first state of the commonwealth address to a joint General Assembly session in the Virginia House of Delegates. Governor McAuliffe called for the expansion of Medicaid, passage of the Dream Act, restoration of a one-per-month limit on handgun purchases, and elimination of a ban on same-sex marriage from the state code. He also addressed economic development in Virginia, encouraging investment in workforce training, public education, and transportation. close
