British Home Secretary Theresa May addressed the House of Commons about the January 2015 terror attacks in Paris and what the government was doing to prevent similar incidents in the United Kingdom. She told members that access to communications data was likely what was used to locate the terror suspects in Paris. She reiterated that proposed changes to the U.K.'s communications data bill was not equivalent to “letting the government snoop on emails,” and argued that the government should have access to phone records to combat terrorism. Following her remarks, she took questions from members on additional counterterrorism measures, combating anti-Semitism in the U. K., and securing the borders. close
