Admiral Cecil Haney, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, talked about the role of strategic deterrence in the 21st century. Topics included emerging threats, unrest in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, and the growing military capabilities of various nations. Admiral Haney also spoke about how deterrence in the 21st century differs from that of the Cold War. Former Ambassador Huntsman made opening remarks.
