Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Norman Delaney and Captain Steve Banta talked about Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, at one time the largest pilot training facility in the world. Commissioned just eight months before the Japanese attack on Pear Harbor, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi had issued wings to over 35,000 aviators by the end of World War II.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Corpus Christi, Texas, from January 12-15, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
