C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Greensboro, North Carolina, from January 19-22, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Time Warner Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2.

Jerry Neal and Jerry Bledsoe talked about their book Fire In The Belly: Building A World-leading High-tech Company From Scratch In Tumultuous Times, about RF Micro Devices, a company founded in Greensboro, North Carolina, that created a micro chip which made the mobile phone industry possible. Jerry Neal founded the company in 1991 with three friends when they were laid off from their jobs at another technology firm.
