Members of the Secret Service Protective Mission Panel testified on their recommendations to improve the Secret Service’s protection of the White House compound. The panel, composed of former Obama and Bush administration officials, was formed in response to security breaches during the preceding year that included an incident involving a lone individual who jumped over a north lawn fence and gained access into the White House. Among their recommendations were bringing in outside leadership to provide a fresh perspective, additional resources, and increased annual training of agents. close
