Representative Walter Jones (R-NC), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, talked about President Obama’s Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) request to fight ISIS. Among other comments he said he and Representative Jim McGovern (D-MA) had asked Speaker John Boehner in writing to allow a full debate of the request, and that he regretted his vote in favor of President George W. Bush’s AUMF because he believes the administration “manipulated the intelligence” to justify the Iraq war. He also discussed Homeland Security funding and proposals for new oil and gas drilling off the Atlantic coast. close
