Panelists talked about the stress factors with which police officers operate and the incidences of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for which they rarely reach out for help due to the police culture. The panel focused on ways to help officers get emotional care, including training, making both mandatory and voluntary emotional aid available, and allowing some officers the ability to receive some retirement benefits before reaching the 20-year mark.
