Chattachoochee Legacy Exhibit Rebecca Bush toured the Chattahoochee Legacy exhibit at the Columbus Museum, which tells the history of the Columbus, Georgia, area from its first pre-historic residents through the growth of Columbus' textile industry. Artifacts on display included items related to “Blind Tom,” a blind African American savant who was born into slavery and toured the world after teaching himself to play various musical instruments, Civil War era clothing worn by the Columbus Red Jackets, and a textile loom used in Columbus' industrial boom.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Columbus, Georgia, from February 26 to March 3, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Mediacom cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
