LGBT Employees and Workplace Discrimination Government officials and activists discussed the scope of federal protection against workplace discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans. Officials talked about compiling statistics on how bias effects hiring, compensation, terms, and termination of employment. Then panels of advocates and opponents of protections against discrimination spoke about issues including transgender issues and religious exemptions.
