The House Budget Committee met to mark up its fiscal year 2016 budget proposal. The proposal aimed to cut $5.5 trillion in projected spending over the next decade and balance the budget in that time frame. It also called for additional defense spending, cuts to domestic programs and a repeal of the federal health care law. close
