President Obama took a tour of the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) at Cleveland State University. President Obama cited it as “a good example of ‎how a public-private partnership has created an American business employing Americans and starting to export. We want to see if we can duplicate this across the board.”

President Obama heard about Cleveland Whiskey’s technology to shorten the aging of bourbon from years to days. Then Ethan Karp showed the president three other displays of products. Accompanied by Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Representatives Marcia Fudge (D-OH) and Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), he saw synthetic skulls for medical research of craniofacial implants from OsteoSymbionics; VADXX, which converts plastics back to their original chemical components; and EchoChem Alternative Fuels, which cleans diesel. The program ends abruptly.

Conversations in the noisy environment were often hard to hear. close
