The Senate Budget Committee met to mark up its budget proposal for fiscal year 2016, which begins October 1, 2015. Dozens of amendments on a variety of domestic and foreign policy issues were proposed, including one that added $38 billion in emergency war funding and brought the Senate blueprint for defense spending closer to the House Republican plan. The Senate Budget Committee approved this budget on a 12-10 party-line vote. close
