President Obama and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani spoke to reporters and answered their questions on a variety of topics related to U.S.-Afghanistan relations. President Obama announced a slowing of the troop draw down from Afghanistan, saying that the U.S. would keep about 9,800 troops in that country through the end of 2015. President Ghani thanked U.S. troops for their service in Afghanistan and thanked American taxpayers. In opening comments, both leaders expressed condolences to Germany and Spain for the loss of lives following a plane crash in the French Alps that day. close
