Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on the previous-day announcement by the U.S. military that Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl had been charged with desertion. Sergeant Bergdahl left his Army post in Afghanistan in 2009 and was subsequently held captive by the Taliban for five years. He was returned to the U.S. as part of a prisoner exchange in 2014.

Gordon Lubold spoke by phone about the next steps following the charges against Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.

David Hawkings was also interviewed by phone about a planned series of votes on amendments to the Republican budget, as well as the latest in the House and Senate on a bill that would fix payments to doctors under Medicare, also know as the “doc fix.” close
