The U.S. House of Representatives met and took up debate on S 12: A bill to ensure carriage on cable television of local news and other programming and to restore the right of local regulatory authorities to regulate cable television rates. The bill passed and was sent on to President George H.W. Bush who vetoed the bill sending it back to Congress where it be voted on again overriding that veto. close
