Frederick A.O. Schwarz talked about his book, Democracy in the Dark: The Seduction of Government Secrecy, about the debate over secrecy and transparency in the U.S. government. In his book, Mr. Schwarz argues that the American public and government should give greater consideration to the dangers of secrecy. Steven Aftergood, Carrie Cordero, Lucy Dalglish, Barton Gellman, and Charlie Savage provided commentary.
