Representative Jim McDermott (D-WA) talked about the Medicare “doc fix” bill, which permanently replaces the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula used to determine Medicare payments for doctors. The House passed the bill before Easter recess, and the Senate passed it the previous day, just in time to avert the midnight “doc fix” expiration. Representative McDermott also discussed challenges to the Affordable Care Act, budget and tax rate issues, and pending trade legislation. close
