Ministers at War
Jonathan Schneer talked about his book Ministers at War: Winston Churchill and His War Cabinet, in which he recounts Winston Churchill’s war cabinet, composed of men across the political spectrum, who assisted the prime minister in managing the British war effort. In his book, the author reports that Prime Minister Churchill’s leadership would have been unsuccessful without these men, who ultimately became rancorous and called for a general election in 1945; a contest Churchill lost to Clement Attlee. close
