The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument in Obergefell v. Hodges, docket number 14-556 Question 1, consolidated with three other same-sex marriage cases. The second question heard was whether the 14th Amendment requires a state to recognize a same-sex marriage performed in another state. The cases raising that question were Obergefell v. Hodges from Ohio and Tanco v. Haslam from Tennessee.
