Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) talked about about the committee’s agenda and actions, including the recent confirmation of Loretta Lynch as attorney general. He also talked about improving programs for juveniles and increasing protections for whistleblowers. In addition, he also addressed the issue of minorities being killed while in police custody, saying he wasn’t sure that police were using “common sense,” but didn’t want to second guess officers. He suggested that the Judiciary Committee may consider whether an automatic review by the Justice Department was needed in cases such as this. close
