Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke about the framework agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. Senator Cruz said he was unhappy with the legislation and that Iran was a danger to the U.S. He said that Iran would continue to have a nuclear program and would “cheat” to find a way to create a nuclear weapon. He also urged the passage of his amendment that places extra conditions on the nuclear deal, but Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Ben Cardin (D-MD) responded that the adoption of that amendment would kill the bill.
Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) spoke briefly about the schedule before the exchange between Senators Cruz and Cardin continued. close
