Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr (R-NC) debated the National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance law signed by President Obama the previous day. Senator Merkey spoke about the need to bring FISA courts out of secrecy while Senator Burr said the courts are not secret and very much needed for security. Senator Merkley responded that the secrecy of the process was the issue. close
