Vice President Joe Biden spoke about Russia’s intervention in Ukraine and its implications for European security. The vice president said that helping Ukraine to defend against and deter Russian aggression was critical to preventing further aggression in the future. He harshly criticized the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but said the U.S. and Russia should continue to cooperate on areas of clear mutual interest, such as Iran’s nuclear program and combating ISIL.*
