The House voted for re-authorization of the Commodities Futures Trade Commission. The House debated and voted on amendments to H.R. 2577, a $108.7 billion Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Spending bill. Members passed the final bill, 215-210.

Representative-Elect Trent Kelly was sworn in as the representative from the First District of Mississippi. He replied to speeches of welcome from the Mississippi delegation. The chair announced that the whole number of the House was then 434. close
