Government officials testified on the extent of two Office of Personnel Management (OPM) data breachs disclosed by the agency on June 4, 2015, believed to involve hackers in China. OPM Director Katherine Archuleta said the number of people impacted by the data breach was likely to grow. The first breach occurred in late 2014 and the second was discovered while investigating the first. The system breached held data for the federal government’s background investigations. close
