Filmmakers Morgan Neville and Robert Gordon talked about their documentary Best of Enemies, which tells the story of the famous 1968 televised debates between conservative William F. Buckley and liberal Gore Vidal. In 1968, during the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, ABC sponsored ten debates in which the two writers and commentators talked about the issues of the day, from war, to politics, God, and sex. The guests also discussed their careers as filmmakers as well as politics, music, race relations, and other cultural elements of American society. close
